Because Houston is a large city and very spread out, you need to decide what
you’ll be doing before you choose your hotel. If you’re visiting NASA, choose a
hotel in Clear Lake for convenience and savings. If you’re
traveling with little ones, stay downtown near Hermann Park and you can walk to
the gardens and zoo.
If a side trip to Galveston is on the agenda, you’ll want
to stay on the southeastern side of the city. And bear in mind that Galveston is
a weekend destination while Houston is busier during the week. Don't forget to check out Kemah and make sure to stay at the South Shore Harbour Resort.
If you plan to spend weekend days in Houston and head out to Moody Gardens and the
beach after that, you’ll avoid crowds and stretch your vacation dollars.
